Are You A Good Candidate For Electrolysis Hair Removal?
Electrolysis is the only form of permanent hair removal that is proven work, has a track record that spans over 130 years and is backed up by the FDA. All of these reasons are why there are women who prefer it to laser even though laser takes a fraction of the time. So how do you know if you’re a good candidate for electrolysis? It’s really simple actually- if you have unwanted hair then you’re a candidate. The reason that I can give you this answer is because the way that electrolysis works is by targeting the root of the hair follicle and launching a direct attack on it. It doesn’t matter what the color of the hairs are or how thick they are in a certain area. If you have hair then it can be removed.
If this answer is too basic for you then let’s break it down a little and say that if you meet any of the below criteria then you’re a good candidate for electrolysis.
- If you have blond, red, white, grey, brown or black hairs then you’re a good candidate.
- If you have thick, thin or a combination of thick and thin hairs then you’re a good candidate.
- If you’ve had laser in the past and have a few sparse hairs left behind that you want removed forever then you’re a good candidate for electrolysis hair removal.
- If you’re willing to make appointments and stick to it in order to see results then you’re a good candidate.
All this sounds easy enough but as far as that last point goes, it’s really something to keep in mind. If you’re working on a small area like the upper lip or the underarms there’s a pretty good chance that you’ll stick with it. However, if you want to work on a large area such as full legs or arms, treatments can take years depending on your ethnic background and what you’ve done to the hairs in the past so you may want to start with laser and then go for electrolysis to get rid of any stragglers in order to save a lot of time and money. Are there people who do electrolysis for years? Of course because they are willing to dedicate themselves to getting rid of the hairs forever. The question is, are you that dedicates?
You should also keep in mind that different people see results at a different pace. Just because you’re mom had fifteen treatments it doesn’t mean that you will see results in the same amount of time. It’s also important to keep in mind that electrolysis can sometimes feel uncomfortable depending on your sensitivity in general, your age and the area being worked on so be sure to speak to your electrologist about how you can get a more comfortable treatment and perhaps set up a consultation.
